Mammography uses low-dose x-rays to identify breast cancer. This test is intended to screen females under the age of 40 for breast cancer and to diagnose it early. Women with symptoms such as a lump or soreness in the breasts or unusual nipple discharge are also recommended to consult a doctor immediately.
Women should self-examine their breasts monthly to help detect breast cancer early.
Why is it done?
1- To detect breast cancer and surgical scars in women.
2- To find simple cyst and fibrosis detection.
3- To evaluate the breast abscess.
